This entry is part 2 of 22 in the series The Major Arcana

He stands upon the stage, waving his hands in the air, performing all sorts of magical illusions. But are they illusions in truth? Or is he creating actual magic out of thin air?

His audience is rapt, oohing and ahhing at all the right places in his act. He pulls a rabbit out of a hat. He produces doves from a flash of paper, fire, and smoke. He saws a woman in half. And he does more. He locks himself into a chamber over spikes that will surely kill him if it falls before he can break free. But in all things, he is fully in control of the creative magical process.

He has an apprentice, and that apprentice can attest that what the Magician does is, in fact, no mere act. He has seen behind the curtain. He has seen what the Magician does in his spare time. He knows about the cauldrons and the bottles and the books the Magician reads and incants over in the dead of night. He has seen the force of nature the Magician brings to life in that darkened room.

The Magician has command of his own magic, to use as he sees fit, to create, to bring life, to affect the very forces of nature. His power and his creativity know no bounds, and he passes his knowledge along freely to allow another to unlock their own creative and natural potential.

Learn, and discover.
