You draw close, not wanting to interrupt their communion with one another, but they notice you anyway. They separate to welcome you into their presence, yet they continue to hold hands. “I want a soulmate like you,” you say.

“Soulmates come and go,” they say to you, in unison. “Have you had the experience of a soulmate before?”

You nod, slowly. “Once, maybe, but it didn’t last. I miss it, and I want it again.”

“Focus on your relationships with those around you. Enhance and enrich each one with your presence and personality and energy. A new soulmate will rise, whether it be from one of those connections or from a new one you haven’t realized yet. But the connections you already have shouldn’t be left to dissipate while you wait for a soulmate. Each one is valuable in its own way, important to who you are as a person. They close ranks with each other once again, their arms around one another. You nod at their words and take some hope from them. You dream of having what they have, but now you know that the Universe will provide that bond eventually. And you plan to hang on to it for as long as it lasts.
