Of course there is some real science that goes into it! Nobody would believe it otherwise. However, I've always been suspicious of global warming, and when the emails got out, that was it for me. IMO, global warming started out as truth before some crazy scientists ran with it and turned it into propaganda.
I'm not even sure what you're talking about, with regard to emails. All I've ever cared about are facts and data. Just because a scientist or two turned global warming into their own propagandistic agenda doesn't invalidate the verifiable evidence that's already been gathered.
