Feathered Flight

If this doesn’t get you jazzed about space flight, I don’t know what will. It looks like Virgin Galactic may have licked the re-entry problem for space flight by building a plane that literally folds itself in half for a more controlled re-entry. It’s an amazing bit of engineering, and I can’t wait to see what Virgin does from here.

Failed Origami

If you haven’t discovered the wonderful 8in8 “Nighty Night” album, I highly recommend you check it out. It combines the talents of Amanda Palmer, Ben Folds, Damian Kulash, and Neil Gaiman to create a lovely 6-track album released under a Creative Commons license. This is so far probably one of my favorite fan-created music videos to one of the album’s tracks.

Sloth Rescue

I absolutely love this. Kudos to the guy who rescued the critter. From what I understand, many sloths die every year attempting to the cross the road. This one, at least, was fortunate enough to have someone watching out for it.
