I always make a point every year of saying that I don’t do resolutions. Well, I’m going to break somewhat with that tradition and actually set a handful for this year. They are as follows:

1. *2008 is the year of the Tai Chi.* I’ve slacked off in recent weeks on my Tai Chi training, and my back has suffered for the lack. I intend to pick up a regular schedule again and get back with the program. Core strengthening is very important for my physical health.

2. *Target weight loss of 40 lbs.* I’ve also been lax in my weight loss program the last few months. It’s been rough trying to exercise when it makes me hurt, but it’s also a necessary part of helping my back heal. Catch 22. But, I really want to get the weight off, so I guess I just need to suck it up and work at it. Less weight equals happier back.

3. *Time to write.* I’ve got a couple of good stories stuck in the back of my head. I just haven’t found the time to sit down and write them out. I really haven’t done much in the way of fiction writing at all this past year, so I’m going to try to get back into the rhythm of it this year. It’d be cool to get something published, but that’s not ultimately a goal for this year. I’ll just be happy to get myself back into the groove again.

There they are.
